摘要: Abstract Objective To characterize patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in different motivational stages related to smoking cessation. Methods 633 COPD from 67 general practices participated a cross-sectional study. The were compared respect health indicators, demographics, self-efficacy, nicotine dependence, attitudes, and action plans. Results In line previous Dutch results, smokers precontemplation associated significantly fewer advantages cessation than contemplating quitting preparing quit. Preparers had higher self-efficacy expectations about the other smokers. Patients quit suffered more complaints precontemplators. Smokers developed plans turn intentions into action. Conclusion More 50% of are amenable support. contemplators did not differ as much studies found. It would be advantageous tailor counseling two distinct groups (unmotivated motivated quit), discuss unmotivated smokers, increase planning for Practice implications smoking.
