摘要: [1] The TEX86H temperature proxy is a relatively new based on crenarchaeotal lipids and has rarely been applied together with other proxies. In this study, we the sediment core from Alboran Sea (western Mediterranean, ODP-977A) covering penultimate climate cycle, that is, 244 to 130 ka, compared previously published sea surface temperatures derived U37k′ of alkenones haptophyta Mg/Ca records planktonic foraminifera. The record shows remarkably similar stadial-interstadial patterns abrupt changes those observed palaeothermometer. Absolute estimates are generally higher than U37k′, though difference (<3°C in 81% data points) mainly within calibration error for both proxies, suggesting crenarchaeota experienced variations. During occasional events (<5% analyzed time span), however, exhibits considerably absolute U37k′. Comparison foraminifera as well Mediterranean TEX86 suggests part divergence may be attributed seasonal differences, reflecting warm summer season while would show annual mean. Biases global proxies or specific biases an alternative, less likely, explanation. Despite differences between temperatures, correlation two (r2 = 0.59, 95% significance) provides support occurrence variations western during interglacial-to-glacial cycle.
