摘要: Background Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-G is a nonclassical class I with immunomodulatory roles including up-regulation of suppressor T regulatory lymphocytes. HLA-G was recently identified as an asthma susceptibility gene, and expression soluble isoform, HLA-G5, has been demonstrated in human airway epithelium. Increased presence HLA-G5 bronchoalveolar lavage fluid recovered from patients mild asthma; this suggests role for isoform modulating inflammation though the mechanisms by which occurs unclear. Airway associated Th2 cytokines such IL-4 IL-13 principal feature asthma, but whether these elicit not known.
