摘要: Results are presented of experiments aiming to evaluate and characterize available germplasm lines, landraces core collection lines pearl millet exploit genetic variability so as identify promising for metric traits utilization in different breeding programmes develop early high-yielding potential hybrids/open-pollinated cultivars grain fodder drier areas India. The materials consisted 2375 accessions, 180 504 lines. were evaluated during the 2006 rainy season Mandor, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, accessions sown 22 blocks. Each block 120 4 controls (J 2405, J 2340, NMP 24 PP 29). was also at 3 locations, i.e. AICPMIP, Jodhpur; Agricultural Research Station, Rajasthan University, Durgapura, Jaipur, Rajasthan; Millet Junagadh Jamnagar, Gujarat. accommodated 19 27 test controls, namely IP 17862 (ICTP 8203), 22281 (Raj 171) (grain type) 3616 (fodder type). After every 9 one sown. Observations recorded on morphological/metric traits, vigour, days 50% flowering, maturity, plant height, productive tillers per plant, total nodes sheath length, blade length width, panicle exsertion, thickness density, bristle 1000-grain weight, yield, yield potential, green overall aspect.
