Steric effects in the state specific reaction Li+HF (v=1, j=1, m=0)→LiF+H

摘要: Results of a crossed beam study on the state specific reaction Li+HF (v=1, j=1, m=0)→LiF+H at translational collision energy Etr=0.42 eV are reported. Angular distributions LiF have been measured for three different internuclear axis HF, namely an isotropic one, one where is aligned with relative velocity reagents V and perpendicular to both scattering plane. We find marked influence these geometries (steric effects) (i) angular distributions; (ii) partition available energy; (iii) integral cross sections. The ratio latter preferred side‐on end‐on collisions HF amounts 1.76. From products, double‐differential sections in center‐of‐mass frame determined which exhibit all cases backward LiF.
