Size-dependent intercalation of alkylamines within polydiacetylene supramolecules

摘要: The structure of polydiacetylene (PDA) supramolecules offers carboxylic acid-terminated alkyl side-chains around a π conjugated polymer backbone. Exposure these to alkylamines induced disruption the PDA backbone via intercalation as revealed by colorimetric/fluorometric response. This response is demonstrated be dependent on length alkylamine, offering new view in systems with respect supramolecules. It found that this critical carbon chain alkylamine required induce colour change must greater than side-chain order interact Intercalation longer species also supramolecule aggregation resulting destabilised suspensions.
