摘要: AbstractThe purpose of this review is to test the hypothesis that serial digital rectal examinations prostate lead detection cancer at an earlier and more curable stage. The clinic records 4,843 patients between 40 79 years old seen Brooke Army Medical Center screening January 1979 September 1985 were reviewed. Of with palpable nodules 122 found on biopsy have adenocarcinoma prostate. We compared clinical and, when possible, pathological stage disease diagnosed initial visit those from who had prior normal followed our clinic. There was a numerically striking difference in percentage each group as well B cancer. Due small number these differences not statistically significant.
