摘要: Abstract We have analyzed and investigated with clinical means the potential use of retinoids in primary CNS (brain) tumors. Established to be effective ectodermal skin disorders, also effectively alter growth neuro-epithelial tissue, i.e. cells neuro-ectodermal origin, 13-cis Retinoic acid inhibitor RA catabolism, liarozole, can both given orally as additional, adjuvant medication standard treatment protocols. Particularly conjunction liarozol avoid decreasing plasma tissue concentrations, 13cRA seems safe promising therapy intracranial The combined did not lead increased pressure, was well tolerated, may able induce tumor cell differentiation, slow de-differentiation improve anti-tumoral responses. Retinoids are compatible all other modalities, including radiotherapy, anti-edematous Boswellia acids intra-tumoral approaches such herpes-simplex thymidine kinase/ganciclovir insertion, prove useful even lower-grade astrocytoma or neuro-epithelial, e.g. spinal, neoplasia.
