Method of an enhanced self-amplified spontaneous emission for x-ray free electron lasers

摘要: We describe a technique by which an energy modulation of electrons via interaction with laser pulse in wiggler magnet is used for significant increase the electron peak current prior to entering long self-amplified spontaneous emission (SASE) free undulator. This results reduction gain length SASE process and modification structure output x-ray radiation. It also temporally links initial pulse, thus providing opportunity accurate synchronization between pump probe pump-probe experiments.
