摘要: In order to prevent and control the emergence of biosecurity threats such as vector-borne diseases plants, it is vital understand drivers entry, establishment, spatiotemporal spread, well form, timing, effectiveness disease management strategies. An inherent challenge for policy in combatting emerging uncertainty associated with intervention planning areas not yet affected, based on models data from current outbreaks. Following recent high-profile bacterium Xylella fastidiosa a number European countries, we review most pertinent epidemiological uncertainties concerning dynamics this novel environments. To reduce considerable ecological socio-economic impacts these outbreaks, eco-epidemiological research broader range environmental conditions needs be conducted used inform enhance risk assessment, support successful policy-making decisions. By characterizing infection pathways, can highlight that surround our knowledge disease, drawing attention how are amplified when trying predict manage outbreaks currently unaffected locations. help guide future decision-making processes, invited experts different fields plant pathology identify prioritize developing pest assessments. Our analysis revealed mainly driven by large variety hosts, vectors, bacterial strains, leading characteristics further magnified conditions. These results offer new insights analyses understanding spread recommendations.[Formula: see text] Copyright © 2020 The Author(s).
