摘要: Abstract Background Little is known about the main drivers of pharmacists' intention to utilize prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs) when making care decisions and actual contribution these factors in explaining behavior. Objectives This study examined what theory planned behavior (TPB) model constructs (i.e., attitude, subjective norm [SN], perceived behavioral control [PBC]), past utilization (PUB) moral obligation (PMO) were significant predictors Virginia community a PDMP. Methods A cover letter with link 28-item online survey was e-mailed 600 members Pharmacists Association. Multiple regression analyses used determine association between PDMP database SN, PBC, PUB PMO. Results Ninety-seven usable responses received, for response rate 16.2%. majority respondents Caucasian (96.4%), female (50.5%), working independent pharmacies (60.4%) an average age 49.5 ± 13.4 years. Overall, pharmacists intended (mean = 5.3 ± 4.6; possible range: −9 9), had positive attitude toward utilizing (mean = 6.3 ± 5.3; −12 12), that others wanted them (SN score = 3.7 ± 2.4; −6 6), believed they over (PBC score = 4.5 ± 4.0; 9). Attitude ( β = 0.723, P = 0.230, = 0.014) PBC = −0.215, = 0.026) significantly predicted intent, accounting 56.7% variance Conclusions Members Association who responded showed strong intent database. Pharmacists' attitudes, norm, but not. The TPB useful theoretical framework predicting pharmacists, intention.
