摘要: Access to adequate surgical care is limited globally, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). To address this issue, surgeons are becoming increasingly involved international teaching collaborations (ISTCs), which include educational partnerships between teams high-income those LMICs. The purpose of study determine a framework for unifying, systematizing, improving the quality ISTCs so that they can better global need. A convenience sample 68 surgeons, anesthesiologists, physicians, residents, nurses, academics, administrators from U.S., Canada, Norway was used study. Participants all had some involvement came multiple specialties institutions. Qualitative methodology used, participants were interviewed using pre-determined set open-ended questions. Data gathered over two months either in-person, phone, or on Skype. evaluated thematic content analysis. organize systematize ISTCs, reported need centralized/systematized process with designated leaders, universal data bank current efforts/progress, communication amongst parties, full-time administrative staff, dedicated funds, scholarly approach, increased use technology, more research needs outcomes. By taking steps towards unifying systematizing be improved. This could lead an advancement efforts increase access worldwide.
