摘要: Background: The BRAFV600E mutation is highly specific to papillary thyroid carcinoma. A test for this may increase the diagnostic accuracy of fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), especially in a mutation-prevalent population. Methods: This prospective study enrolled 1074 patients with nodules who underwent both FNAC and analysis by dual-priming oligonucleotide (DPO)-based multiplex PCR FNA specimens. Results: ancillary significantly improved sensitivity procedure, from 67.5% alone 89.6% DPO-based combined. Diagnostic increased 90.9 96.6%. Nine cases carcinoma were detected only analysis.
