摘要: [1] The capability of Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model in the simulation cirrus clouds has been examined, with a focus on effects radiative processes vertical resolution. We incorporate WRF new radiation module, referred to as Fu‐Liou‐Gu scheme, which is an improvement refinement based Fu‐Liou particularly reference parameterization single‐scattering properties ice crystal size shape. conducted number real‐time simulations for cases that were observed coastal western United States 29–30 March 2007, we compared these available observations from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) GOES visible IR images over same areas. Simulation results show capable generating reasonable cloud fields their movement dissipation processes, especially those associated large‐scale frontal system. Radiative are important by affecting thermal structure hence convection. newly implemented demonstrated work well can be effectively used studies related formation evolution aerosol‐cloud‐radiation interactions. With cover water path (CWP IWP) have improved clouds, more consistent comparison corresponding MODIS terms CWP IWP means frequency distribution, optically thin about 20% simulated mean IWP. model‐simulated sizes also shown comparable determined products. Finally, resolution plays significant role altering velocity field regional circulation.
