摘要: The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of degassing on an extrusion process, with respect extrudate quality and drug release properties. Processed formulations were extruded without a vent port at various locations along barrel. All experiments performed under constant processing temperature, feeding rate, screw speed. During torque pressure monitored recorded. process was beneficial when used over conveying section after mixing section. This is attributed large surface area available elements, which minimizes internal volume processed material, thereby facilitating escape entrapped gases. Degassing enhanced homogeneity, physical appearance, properties all formulations. Furthermore, also cross-sectional uniformity for visual monitoring during processing. considerably reduced post-extrusion moisture content Formula D3, contains highly hygroscopic polymer Kollidon® 17 PF, suggesting that greatest influence this materials. reduction in resulting from inclusion port, fluctuations values in-line parameters such as torque. Employing unit hot-melt could help increase efficacy product quality.
