摘要: Spatial sensitivity of auditory cortex to free-field sound sources has been recognized for many years. Azimuthal tones, noise, and clicks studied by several investigators (see (1974) (1981) early work). (1990) (1990ab) have shown that about 80% the neurons can be classified as azimuthal sensitive. Neurons could generally having contralateral (most prevalent), ipsilateral, central, multipeaked, or omnidirectional response properties. With development advanced signal processing techniques, virtual-space stimuli, rather than used characterize, in detail, spatial receptive fields cat (Brugge, Reale, Hind, Chan, Musicant, Poon, 1994). A benefit using virtual aside from efficiency stimulus generation, is stimuli manipulated systematic ways dissociate specific factors shaping a cortical field.
