摘要: Objective We aimed to develop and validate a low cost, do-it-yourself model for neonatal thoracoscopic congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). Design Volunteers with varying skills in minimally invasive surgery tested evaluated the simulating CDH repair. The was built from ordinary materials purchased dime store: small food container, neoprene band diaphragm, an inflated balloon spleen, tissue chord intestine, body wash sponge collapsed lung. evaluation comprised 3 sets of 5-point grading scale concerning appearance, necessary maneuvers, ability generate skills. Bowel reduction suture efficacy verified each test. Setting Minimally simulation room at Pediatric Surgery Department Hospital Universitario de Vall d’Hebron, Barcelona, Spain. Participants Volunteer residents specialists pediatric surgery. Results possible every test, 1 spleen rupture, bowel entrapment, 2 inappropriate sutures due tension. Most volunteers considered general endoscopic vision (63.2%), external internal dimensions (both 89.5%) be highly similar; (68.4%) diaphragm’s manipulation (57.9%) or very similar. Regarding its skills, most it extremely useful concerning: camera handling (52.6%), working spaces 100%), (63.2%). least liked features were colors size, portability, reproducibility features. Conclusions consider this cost easily reproducible realistic enough repair training, having potential adapted other simulations.
