摘要: The anatomy of the double or bifid zygomaticus major muscle is investigated in a series 50 hemifacial cadaver dissections. represents an anatomical variation this facial expression. This originates as single structure from zygomatic bone. As it travels anteriorly, then divides at sub-zygomatic hollow into superior and inferior bundles. bundle inserts usual position above comer mouth. modiolus below corner incidence was 34% present study, found to be 17 study shows that individual morphology mimetic muscles can common finding. Clinically, may explain formation cheek "dimples." observed several specimens have dermal attachment along its mid-portion, which tethers overlying skin. When with smiles, traction on skin create dimple due tethering effect.
