摘要: Results of studies conducted 10-20 years ago show the prominence commercial information sources in adoption process new drugs. Over past decade, there has been a growing emphasis on practicing evidence-based medicine drug prescribing. This raises question whether professional currently counterbalance influence process. The aim this study was to identify determinants influencing class, angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), by general practitioners (GPs) Netherlands. A retrospective assess prevalent ARB prescribing for hypertensive patients using Integrated Primary Care Information (IPCI) database. We survey among all GPs who participated IPCI project 2003 their exposure and sources, perceived benefits risks ARBs, influences network, characteristics. Multilevel logistic regression applied while adjusting patient Data were obtained from 70 9470 treated patients. total 1093 received ARBs (12%). reported frequent use more likely prescribe routinely preference other antihypertensives, whereas used decision support system those involved pharmacotherapy education less ARBs. Other factors that associated with higher levels included positive perception regarding effectiveness lowering blood pressure, working single-handed practices or rural areas. Aside related population, class Dutch is still determined reliance promotional than sources.
