摘要: Acid rain emerged in the late 1970s both as a domestic issue within United States and Canada contentious problem between two neighbors. A decade of debate over 1980s led eventually to controls on emissions that cause acid rain, step required new federal-provincial agreement significant amendment U.S. Clean Air Act, also an international agreement—the bilateral Quality Agreement 1991. In followed, these efforts were praised highly successful, especially Ottawa Washington. While other transboundary issues have achieved more prominence recent years, particularly ground-level ozone, remains agenda.
