On first 4 sessions, they received (0.8 g/kg) placebo alternating order, on fifth session, chose consumed whichever 2 preferred. During each participants completed Profile Mood States (POMS) Biphasic Effects Scale (BAES) questionnaires had vitals recorded every 30 minutes. We compared response during sampling sessions who session 5. Results Of 95 participants, 55 (choosers) 40 (nonchoosers). In full sample, produced its expected (e.g., increased friendliness, elation, vigor (POMS), stimulation sedation (BAES)). The chooser nonchooser groups did differ demographic characteristics, blood levels, cardiovascular measures. choosers experienced greater alcohol-induced increases positive mood liked drug more, whereas nonchoosers anger, anxiety after Conclusion Both predicted preference under conditions, suggesting that factors future consumption
