A Canadian Working Group report on fecal microbial therapy: Microbial ecosystems therapeutics

摘要: A working group from across Canada comprised of clinician and basic scientists, epidemiologists, ethicists, Health regulatory authorities representatives major funding agencies (Canadian Institutes Research the Crohn’s Colitis Foundation Canada) met to review current experience with fecal microbial therapy identify key areas study required move this field forward. The report highlights promise related synthetic stool (together called ‘microbial ecosystems therapeutics’) for treatment Clostridium difficile colitis and, possibly, other disorders. It identifies pressing clinical issues that need be addressed as well social, ethical barriers use these important therapies.
