摘要: The CHIANTI database was described by Dere et al. (1997, hereafter Paper I) and the present paper applies atomic data to study of extreme ultra-violet emission lines found in SERTS-89 active region spectrum published Thomas & Neupert (1994). Firstly, line ratios that areinsensitivetodensityandtemperatureareusedtocheckboth quality calibration instru- ment. Secondly, we use, where possible, are sensitive density estimate electron from different ions. In general nd excellent agreement between theory observation, providing condence both spectrum. Whereinconsistenciesbetweentheoryandobservationexistwe try explain them terms either inaccuracies or blending lines. One consistent discrepancy all observed analysed 430{450 A were uniformly a factor 1.5{2.0 weaker than predicted, sug- gesting may need adjustment thisspectralinterval.Seriousproblemswerealsofoundinsome theoretical predictions for few ions, especially Fexiv.
