Trust and truth: uncertainty in health care practice.

摘要: Uncertainty is the ubiquitous presence across health care. It usually understood in terms of decision making, ‘knowing’ correct diagnosis or understanding how human body works. Using work Ludwig Wittgenstein, Georges Canguilhem and Tim Ingold, I outline a story journeying habitation, argue that while uncertainty for practitioners may be about enhancing theoretical knowledge, patients it knowing to act taken-for-granted largely unconscious way world has become uncertain, which main tool action, body, no longer functions with certainty once had. In this situation, role practitioner first foremost recognize emerged patient's ‘habitation’ reassure them by enabling have new restored confidence their so they can certainty.
