Fabrication of Al 2 O 3 aerogel-SiO 2 fiber composite with enhanced thermal insulation and high heat resistance

摘要: The thermal-resistance Al2O3 aerogels and aerogel-SiO2 fiber composite by using inorganic aluminum salt as the precursor were synthesized sol–gel process. method was straightforward, inexpensive, safe. Furthermore, it found that as-prepared aerogel had high crystal phase transition temperature. As heat treatment temperature increased to 900 °C, from γ-AlOOH γ-Al2O3 occurred within aerogel. Meanwhile, exhibited Young’s modulus of tensile strength up 6.59 MPa low thermal conductivity at 35 °C (0.028 W/(m K)) 600 (0.033 K)). In addition, results indicated moderate hydrophobic property well mechanical property.
