摘要: Abstract The present paper reports on the first application of a polymer inclusion membrane (PIM) for extraction bismuth(III) ion. Best results in terms rate Bi(III) and amount extracted were achieved with PIM composition 50 wt% poly(vinyl chloride) as base bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) extractant feed solution adjusted to pH 1.3 containing 0.2 mol L−1 sulfate. back-extraction was performed quantitatively 2 mol L−1 H2SO4 receiving solution. No deterioration performance observed 15 consecutive extraction/back-extraction cycles lost less than 4% its mass when exposed ambient air or optimal mentioned above. stoichiometry Bi(III)-D2EHPA adduct established be BiL3(HL)3 where HL denotes D2EHPA. High selectivity presence common metal ions such Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Fe(III), Cr(III), Co(II), Mn(II), Al(III), Mo(VI). co-extraction Fe(III) suppressed by complexing it fluoride. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force contact angle measurements, thermogravimetric analysis, stress-strain analysis used characterizing
