Who became revolving door patients? Findings from a nation-wide cohort of first time admitted psychiatric patients.

摘要: ABSTRACT— A cohort representing all first-time admissions to Danish psychiatric institutions during the period April 1, 1970 March 31, 1971 was followed for 10 years in register. The comprised 5,881 males and 6,856 females aged 15 or above. revolving door population delineated as (1) patients with minimum four no admission discharge lasting more than one fourth of observation (2) first period. incidence rate 3.14 3.55 per 1,000. Revolving were younger others, single divorced, lived larger cities. They frequently referred out-patient aftercare discharged their own home. male diagnostic profile schizophrenia, demential organic psychoses, personality disorders abuse emerged together a female manic depressive psychogenic psychosis neurosis. Twenty-one point nine percent 13.0% had 4.5% 3.7% spent 5 hospital. High risk groups 15–24 old 21% 13% young respectively became patients, schizophrenics, 46% 30% schizophrenics patients.
