摘要: Prior research has found that people prefer impoverished over enriched options. However, individuals make decisions either for themselves or others every day. The present investigates how and why the decision target (self other) influences preferences We hypothesized participants who made choices preferred options more than those (Studies 1 2) because former group believed they should justify their to latter (Study 2). Overall, current sheds light on self-other differences in trade-off between options, as well role of justification this effect.
