摘要: The enumeration of world crude-oil reserves and resources is a difficult undertaking. One must rely on data gathered by others and, through various spot-check cross-check mechanisms, distinguish the reasonable from unreasonable. Estimating techniques vary; standards measurement classification reported elements differ; in some cases, even recognition what being obfuscated language nomenclatural ambiguities. Therefore, to improve understanding petroleum resources, it prudent describe methodologies explicitly, disaggregate as much possible gain insight into source differences, standardize nomenclature scheme establish unambiguous communication.
