Developing Resilient Urban Waterfronts : Integrating Adaptation into Urban Development and Management

摘要: There is a growing attention for integrating climate change adaptation into policies, strategies and decision-making processes (e.g. mainstreaming). This paper explores to what extent can be integrated of urban development change, based on case study research in the Rotterdam waterfront area (Feijenoord). In this “adaptation opportunities” are identified, by mapping all planned spatial investments brownfield development, renovation, maintenance projects public private infrastructures assets. These opportunities seen as momentum enhancing resilience at relatively low costs.
