An Insidious Danger in Children With Familial Mediterranean Fever: Colchicine Intoxication.

摘要: Colchicine is an anti-inflammatory drug, which has been used for the treatment of familial Mediterranean fever several decades with narrow therapeutic-toxicity window. poisoning rare but frequently a life-threatening emergency condition in pediatric practice. It may occur by excessive ingestion colchicine tablets accidentally or intentionally. Herein, we report suicide attempt 12-year-old girl who had followed up diagnosis fever. She was admitted to our department gastrointestinal complaints and subsequently died because rapidly deteriorating metabolic hemodynamic conditions.
