摘要: Iris biometrics provide a mature and robust method of authentication, but are typically applied in controlled environment under constrained acquisition conditions. In this paper, the adaption iris for unconstrained, hand-held use cases such as smartphones is investigated. A prototype optics-sensor combination analysed terms its optical properties imaging capabilities. The corresponding camera system with dual visible/NIR sensing capabilities 4 Megapixel resolution tested suitability to implement recognition on smartphones. Recognition performance together image quality comparisons. Preliminary results indicate that there challenges achieve reliable unconstrained cases. Current systems not diffraction limited, particularly at NIR wavelengths; pixel resolutions close useful limits conditions challenging. Nevertheless, our findings similar module, an improved optics sensor, could combine biometric authentication more conventional front-camera functions capture selfie images.
