摘要: Given the nature of pulmonary embolism (PE), timely and accurate diagnosis is critical. Contrast enhanced high-resolution CT images allow physicians to accurately identify segmental sub-segmental emboli. However, it also important assess effect such emboli on blood flow in lungs. Expanding upon previous research, we propose a method for 3D visualization lung perfusion. The proposed allows users examine perfusion throughout entire volume at single glance, with areas diminished highlighted so that they are visible independent viewing location. This may be particularly valuable better accuracy assessing extent hemodynamic alterations resulting from facilitates user interaction help small peripheral otherwise overlooked. 19 patients referred possible PE were evaluated by following administration IV contrast media. An experienced thoracic radiologist assessed datasets 17 diagnosed as being positive multiple Since anomalies due can alter distribution parenchymal densities, analyzed features collected histograms computed maps demonstrate their potential usefulness preliminary test suggest presence PE. These histogram offer possibility distinguishing distinct patterns associated chronic even useful further characterization changes or overall density conditions pneumonia diffuse disease.
