摘要: BACKGROUND Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is often used by cancer patients. Data on characteristics of users, concomitant psychologic disturbance, compliance with standard treatment continue to be controversial. Use interest in CAM their correlation ways coping illness, were examined this study. METHODS The authors conducted a survey consecutive sample 205 patients undergoing radiotherapy, using structured questionnaire record use CAM, the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale, Hornheide Questionnaire assess patient distress social support, Freiburg Coping Illness. RESULTS Of 172 participants, 24.4% (response rate, 83.9%) reported 31.4% not having but being interested such methods. Logistic regression analysis including clinical, demographic, as independent variables yielded 3 predictors or CAM: younger age (P = 0.004; odds ratio (OR), 0.96), progressive 0.064; OR, 1.47), active behavior 0.016; 1.65). Patients did show more poorer less trust radiotherapy than subjects without interest.
