摘要: Explicit measures of disgust and threat overestimation have consistently been found to be involved in contamination aversion. However, evidence the involvement these factors at implicit level is mixed, role both responses has not looked concurrently. This study aimed compare ability explicit predict aversion whether this depends on type contaminant. Sixty-five participants completed overestimation, as well several aversion, including obsessive-compulsive tendencies, fear avoidance contaminants directly associated with disease (direct contaminants) harmful substances (harm contaminants). It was that predicted contamination-fear tendencies. direct contaminants, whereas harm contaminants. The processes weak, some suggestion difficulty disengaging predicting Implications for understanding dysfunctional are discussed.
