An integrated decision support system for the Mediterranean forests

摘要: Mediterranean forests contain a relevant biological diversity and are for local economy. However, they subject to various risks, particularly the risk of forest fires. This turns critical decisions managers, affecting both long-term future daily activities, be difficult. To simulate decisions, help managers policy makers, decision support system, which integrates biological, environmental economic management perspectives agricultural areas, was developed considers activities existing in territory. The system characteristics biophysical units that comprise territorial study area, production technologies conservation agro-forestry goods preferences or stakeholders. proposed approach applied pilot Forest Intervention Zone (FIZ) located within Algarve region inner land. results show is an important tool managing territory implementing manager's decisions.
