摘要: C14-labelled bacteria,Serratia marcescens, were injected into the hemocoel ofHelix pomatia, and distributions of bacteria their breakdown products followed by killing snails measuring C14 levels in various tissues body. During rapid clearance from hemolymph accumulate all which have a rich supply, but digestive gland appears to be most important organ (Figs. 1, 2, 3). Over 15-day period studied, bacterial is mostly retained within snail, becoming more evenly distributed throughout tissues. Fecal remains at low level. These data are interpreted as indicating that large proportion C14, or its products, incorporated snail
