摘要: Abstract Infection of Ayrshire cattle with a stock Trypanosoma vivax from the Galana Ranch, Kenya, resulted in an acute disease characterised by profound anaemia and haemorrhage, which reached maximum severity between 3 5 weeks after infection. Bleeding ears, nose rectum occured. At necropsy, petechial ecchymotic haemorrhages were widespread, but particularly severe gastrointestinal tract. In confirmation gross findings, congestion, haemorrhage degenerative changes most tissues organs found histologically. Thrombi seen lymphatic vessels clots fibrin present ventricles brain. The was consequence frank blood loss through haemorrhaging, exacerbated erythrophagocytosis deformed red cells, whose occurrence indicative microangiopathic changes. Animals euthanisedbetween 23 36 days infection when they became recumbent PCV values as low 9%. There is no doubt that animals affected this syndrome field would die within few infection, if left untreated.
