摘要: This paper presents findings from an empirical study that explored the meaning of ethics in everyday work neuroscientists. Observation and interviews were carried out one neuroscience research group was involved bench-to-bedside translational research. We focus here specifically on scientists’ perceptions bioethics. Interviewees often unfamiliar with bioethics as a discipline, particularly more junior members group. Those who aware its existence largely viewed it something distant them, either too abstract, not relevant or alien imposition their work. Some interviewees themselves pointed to need for better ‘bridge building’ between ethical principles real-world examples drawn scientific practice, we argue this space is where empirically grounded may be useful terms actually engaging scientists at both bench bedside.
