摘要: Cadmium (Cd), a type of heavy metal that accumulates in the body because smoking, mediates toxic effect smoking many diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis. However, Cd on intervertebral disc tissues have not been reported. In current study, we demonstrated induced apoptosis annulus fibrosus (AF) cells, which contributed to degeneration (IVDD). Specifically, nuclear translocation FoxO1a, drives AF cells through mitochondrial-related pathway. Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/AKT) signal pathway is also involved this process. The combined use LY29002, an inhibitor PI3K, small interfering RNA-targeting FoxO1a confirmed relationship between PI3K/AKT FoxO1a. summary, present research explores mechanism behind contribution IVDD finds new feasible target for preventing smoking.
