摘要: Amphiphilic Janus particles are mixed with homogeneous binder strong adhesion to create robust hydrophobic coatings through a unique self-stratification process. Intriguingly, form complete and densely packed monolayer their sides orienting towards air, which effectively increases the water contact angle ∼130°, while hydrophilic sustain coating layer. The maintains its high even after solvent rinsing, whereas conventional completely breaks down. Experimental data preliminary theoretical modeling suggest that stratification partially due adsorption of at water–air interface, although detailed mechanisms require more thorough investigation. Remarkably, simply adding renders commercial primer surface drastically reduces tackiness. This cost-effective commercially scalable method offers convenient way fabricate advanced structures interface can be broadly applicable many other colloidal systems.
