摘要: The protein quality of cassava-based complementary diets was assessed by feeding albino rats. Hematological parameters were also evaluated. A basal diet (nitrogen-free) formulated along with four different 10% and a casein as reference. 48 weanling rats used in the experiment divided into 6 groups 8 each, each group allotted to diets. housed individually. In general, indices showed some variations hematological obtained for animals fed (reference) being significantly higher (P < 0.05) than corresponding values test efficiency ratio (2.37-2.45), biological value (90.12-93.52%), true digestibility (76.50-84.68%), net utilization (71.77-83.13%) (3.53-3.67) indicated good growth promoting proteins. within normal range. study development blend, no adverse biochemical or effects, therefore can be recommended an ideal weaning food improve nutritional status children help solve problems associated protein-energy malnutrition.
