摘要: Purpose To present a new technique for the rehabilitation of severely atrophied mandible that avoids need advanced surgical reconstruction. Materials and methods Severe resorption in posterior was treated following conservative approach. A novel drilling vertical implant-guided bone regeneration were performed to insert extra-short implants maximum use above mandibular canal. progressive loading protocol followed prosthetic with screw-retained prostheses. During follow-up period, complications, failures, marginal loss, implant survival monitored. Results The described approach effective patients residual height canal often less than 6 mm. No signs sensory disturbances or nerve injury detected during observation period. One hundred fourteen inserted 72 patients, mean period 26 months after insertion. rate 98.2% (two failed). Proximal loss limited 1 mm, detailed analysis factors influencing indicated increase diameter associated tendency toward decreased loss. Prosthetic complications (eg, fracture screw loosening) not observed this study. Conclusions This minimally invasive contributed successful oral mandibles. development approaches will decrease risk morbidity, save money time, complexity surgery.
