摘要: Ecotoxicology supplies environmental quality criteria mainly based on the potential effects of contaminants demographic rates natural populations. Possible impacts through pollutant-induced disruptions spatial behaviors are totally neglected. Should it be significant to take into account this "second way"? We developed example a hypothetical brown trout population living in river network. analyzed how toxic avoidance or attraction during spawning migration alter impact pollution. Attraction basically enhanced bad effect More interesting, can weakly lift asymptotic growth rate, while if there is density-dependent recruitment, pollutant actually lead substantial drop equilibrium size. Our model allowed comparing relative significance migratory and for explaining pollution; we thus stress need increasing efforts develop knowledge toxicant-induced integrate such definition criteria.
