摘要: This study investigated differences in clinical symptoms and developmental functioning profiles as well sex-specific correlations of characteristics communication abilities, motor skills, maladaptive behaviors male female preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Fifty-two females (mean age 4.5 ± 2.16 years old) 62 males 4.2 ± 1.17 years ASD were enrolled assessed by measures including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) Psychoeducational Profile-Third (PEP-3). We found intellectual disability 91.2% children. While showed comparable severity restricted repetitive (P = 0.17), less severely affected than intelligence quotient-matched ADOS-2 social affect domain value 0.001) calibrated scores 0.002). Interestingly, linear regressions revealed that fine skills predictive impaired but not females. Specifically, might be core feature for sex ASD. Although preliminary, this finding suggests need more diagnostic intervention strategies order to improve early identification efforts specific targets. LAY SUMMARY: Little is known about functional important similarities between preschoolers.
