摘要: High-grade foci (grade 3 according to Broder’s grading system) are sometimes detected in low-grade 1 and 2) central osteosarcoma. The aim of this study was retrospectively evaluate the clinical outcome patients upgraded high grade 3) after a first diagnosis osteosarcoma, following detection high-grade areas resected specimen. Of 132 with osteosarcoma at surgical biopsy our Institute, 33 were considered eligible for study. Median age 37 (range 13–58 years). Location an extremity 29 (88 %). Post-operative chemotherapy given 22 (67 %) patients. Follow-up data available all patients, median observation time 115 months 4–322 months). After histological revision, accounting less than 50 % tumor found 20 (61 %) whereas majority composed component 13 (39 %) In cases tumor, 9 did not receive adjuvant chemotherapy; only one them died, unrelated causes. group (11 out patients), patient developed multiple lung metastases died disease 39 months diagnosis. other more 12 received chemotherapy: 2 had recurrence, 4 disease. who is alive without 232 months complete remission. Our indicate that where lower specimen, may require chemotherapy, achieving survival rates by means resection only.
