摘要: Aim A systematic review/meta-analysis was performed to evaluate pain during probing, scaling and root planing using intra-pocket anaesthesia versus placebo in adult patients. Methods A search PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Latin American Caribbean Health Sciences Literature database, Brazilian Library Dentistry, Cochrane Grey literature. IADR abstracts, unpublished trials registries, dissertations theses were also searched for randomized clinical comparing the effectiveness placebo. Risk/intensity primary outcome. The risk bias tool from Collaboration used quality assessment. Meta-analysis on studies considered at low bias. Results A total 1740 articles identified. Eleven remained qualitative synthesis, nine “low” meta-analysis. Standardized Hedge's g mean difference intensity visual analogue scale Heft–Parker scales −0.576 (95% confidence interval [CI] −0.94 −0.22; p = 0.002) verbal rating it −1.814 CI −3.38 −0.245; p = 0.023). odds ratio 0.025 0.003 0.25; need rescue 0.358 0.174 0.736; p = 0.005). Conclusions The anaesthetic gel decreases probing/SRP.
