Esoteric healing traditions: a conceptual overview.

摘要: This paper presents, for the first time, a comprehensive scholarly examination of history and principles major traditions esoteric healing. After brief conceptual overview religion healing, summaries are provided eight traditions, including descriptions beliefs practices related to health, medicine. These include what termed kabbalistic tradition, mystery school gnostic brotherhoods Eastern mystical Western shamanic new age tradition. Next, commonalities across these summarized with respect anatomy physiology; nosology etiology; pathophysiology; therapeutic modalities. Finally, implications this survey healing discussed clinicians, biomedical researchers, medical educators.
