摘要: Vochysia guatemalensis has been planted over large tropical areas to obtain lumber products. However, compared with naturally-grown material variations in wood color have noted. In the current research, trees from two 8-year-old fast-grown plantations were sampled different climatic conditions order identify causes of variation. The study evaluated heartwood presence, grain pattern, distance pith, height within tree, and effect drying schedules. was measured by CIEL*a*b* systems. Wood is a combination tonalities lightness (L*), redness (a*), yellowness (b*), however, components dominant tones. sapwood before after drying. A negative relationship found between a* L*, b* undried state, but no L* b*. index only correlated presence wood. dried wood, maintained, while other parameters affected climate, schedule parameter being most affected. displays lighter surface than suggest that it useful establish lots according schedule, source heartwood.
