摘要: Abstract While martensitic stainless steel AISI 440C is an attractive material for wear protection in many industrial applications, it difficult to realize satisfactory coatings this using conventional weld overlay processes. Friction surfacing, a promising solid-state process, can help regard. In the current study, alloy were successfully made on low carbon substrates friction surfacing. Bend and shear tests coated specimens indicated excellent coating/substrate bonding. Microstructures, corrosion behavior, performance of these compared with standard heat treated bulk material. surfaced exhibited superior resistance material, their was found be somewhat inferior. Apart from studies, experiments conducted assess potential process wide area coverage. Studies show that possible achieve well-bonded consisting multiple overlapping tracks inter-track Overall, study demonstrates surfacing very useful producing resistant difficult-to-fusion-deposit materials such as steel.
